My Personal Story …

Growing up in a home with healthcare practitioners, I thought I knew how to take care of myself and avoid the pitfalls of poor health. But by my late-twenties, my health started to suffer.

Home remodeling was my family’s hobby, and we found ourselves remodeling 3 homes, within 4 years, exposing us to various chemicals and toxins. I was also attempting to finish my graduate degree, start a new business, and teach college classes. During the next 4 years, we moved 5 times.

A body can only take so much stress before it reaches its breaking point. I started experiencing extreme fatigue, hormonal and mood swings, gut distress, hair loss, and anxiety. A health crisis, like the one I was experiencing, is often the wake-up call that forces us to admit we are broken and need to be fixed.

I started searching for a doctor that could help me make sense of what was happening, and my healing journey began. Through my own battles, which included Lyme disease, I have learned to have patience and compassion for others who are fighting to regain their health.

My Professional Story …

I have seen the healing power of wholesome food, botanicals, and nutrients. Helping others learn how to better manage stress, gain refreshing sleep, feel energized, become more active, and experience the peace of balanced hormones is my goal and my reward.

Although I have taught in a university classroom and lectured in a variety of community settings, I most enjoy sitting one-on-one with clients, giving them my personal attention while I listen to their story and put the pieces of their puzzle into place. Although I help a variety of people, my most recent interest is in helping women and children and addressing issues that affect reproductive health and fertility.

In my spare time, I can be found knee-deep in medical and science journals, exploring the latest research studies and trends in health. I serve as a technical writer for independent physicians and a supplement company. With this opportunity, I am afforded the privilege of getting an inside look at supplement formulations.

It is important to me that I “practice what I preach” and therefore, my own diet follows the advice I often give my clients, I drink a LOT of water, breath clean air, and am careful about my sleep schedule. To help manage the stress that inevitably confronts all of us, I routinely enjoy the peace and natural aromatherapy from a brisk mountain hike in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Finally, I find daily peace from communing with my Lord in prayer and meditating on passages in the Bible – unashamedly my favorite book.
